Donna Brown to be included in 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America Donna Brown was recently selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2010 in the field of commercial litigation (Copyright 2009 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.). Since its inception in 1983, Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 32,000 leading attorneys cast almost two million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their specialties, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. Seminar Donna Brown, P.C. Celebrates Six Years of Success Thanks to wonderful clients and great staff, Donna Brown, P.C. celebrated its Sixth Anniversary on July 1, 2009. Prior to forming Donna Brown, P.C., Donna was an associate and then partner with the former Austin firm, Hilgers & Watkins, P.C., for nineteen years. After graduating from Baylor undergrad with a B.B.A. and Baylor Law School with a J.D., she practiced law in Waco with the firm of Pakis, Cherry, Beard & Giotes. She initially moved to Austin to work for the Texas Secretary of State during an election season where she was chair of special projects. She continued her work with the State as a staff attorney for the Texas Supreme Court before returning to private practice. In 1986 when the firm was looking for an attorney to handle collections work she agreed to cover the position until someone could be found. Instead, she found that being a collections attorney was as fun as practicing law can get. The rest is history!
